The Lovers Of Mantua
The Lovers of Mantua, also called the Lovers of Valdaro, pertain to two skeletons that were found in a tight embrace. Dating back to the Neolithic period, they were discovered in 2007 close to Valdaro near Mantua.
The textless comic strip was created for elementary school children, and develops one of the many romantic hypotheses regarding the two youths buried together. This narrative approach, accessible and readable only through images, was chosen to give students the opportunity to interpret the story of the two “protagonists” according to their own insights and creativity.
