“Leone came here in 1965 looking for a couple of actors he wanted for his second Western. The moment we met he decided,” There he is, this is the guy who will play Colonel Mortimer in Per Un Pugno di Dollari. “

Well, I certainly wasn’t arguing with him. Heck, at the time I couldn’t even pay my phone bill! I went there and shot it. I paid my bill, and exactly one year later, on April 12, 1966, I was called back to do “The Good, The Ugly and the Bad”. And I also did “La Resa dei Conti,” one after the other. So at the time, instead of $ 17,000 I was making over $100,000… Thanks to Sergio, not me.

Kriminal curiosità

L’amico Marco Mischi (sceneggiatore, fotografo,  collezionista e molto altro) ci fa sempre scoprire piccole curiosità interessanti – che magari tutti conoscono – ma a noi  sfuggite. Questo numero di Kriminal – uscito nel 1968 – fu distribuito in due versioni. Classica e con la variante del talloncino in copertina. Andando all’edicola e trovando la copia con il flash si aveva diritto a un pupazzo di Kriminal. Un gioco divertente e probabilmente una sorpresa inaspettata per il lettore del settimanale. Ovviamente le copie col diritto all’omaggio erano molto inferiori rispetto alla tiratura totale e distribuite casualmente sul territorio nazionale.

Once Upon a Time in the West (C’era una volta il West is a 1968 epic Spaghetti Western film directed by Sergio Leone, who co-wrote it with Sergio Donati based on a story by Dario Argento, Bernardo Bertolucci, and Leone. It stars Henry Fonda, cast against type, as the villain, Charles Bronson as his nemesis, Jason Robards as a bandit, and Claudia Cardinale as a newly widowed homesteader. 

A great comic about Leone.
