Renzo Restani (3 December 1928 – 27 December 2002) was born in Genova and studied at the Academy of Fine Arts. After working in the advertising and animation fields for a while, he focused on comics in 1958. From 1960 he cooperated on Lo Scolaro and a year later he started working for Universo publishers. For this publisher, he illustrated comics for L’Intrepido and Il Monello. He drew comics with several characters, like ‘Dave Devil’, ‘Baby Bang’, ‘Moses’ and ‘Yal Brunn’. In Kiwi magazine, Restani illustrated ‘Coeur Blessé’, about a time travelling Native American.

Born in Florence (22 October 1925 – 13 September 2012), Pini Segna graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in 1944. He settled in the Langhe area during the second World War and has lived there for the rest of his life. In 1946, he debuted with the Vincenzo Baggioli scripted ‘Agente K6’, followed by ‘Il Giustiziere Mascherato’, for the publishing house Nuova Aurora.

In the following year, for Editoriale Sportiva, he made ‘Penna Azzurra’. Starting in 1948, he worked as an illustrator of ‘Saetta’ and ‘Volpe’ stories for Alpe, and as a collaborator of Arc publications like ‘Pantera Bionda’, ‘Tom Mix’ and ‘Tom Bill’.

Born today Giuseppe Dalla Santa

Giuseppe Dalla Santa (18 September 1950 – 29 April 2011) was born in Venice, were he also studied at the Academy of Fine Arts. He first comics were published in the magazines LancioStory and Skorpio in 1976/77. Between 1983 and 1985, he cooperated with Miro Missaglia and Caterina Mognato on a western comic for the French publisher Aventures et Voyages.

He also cooperated with the publishing houses Dardo (Super Eroica) and Universo (Intrepido). In 1989, Dalla Santa abandonned the realistic drawing style and became an artist for the Italian production of Disney comics by Mondadori.
